Ø  課程宗旨(Objective of The Course)

本課程旨在涵蓋精益生產管理之重要概念與工具，以及其於企業中諸如生產與製程開發、資訊技術、以及供應鏈/物流管理上之非製造性功能上之應用。

This graduate course is intended to cover important concepts and tools of lean manufacturing and their applications in non-manufacturing functions of an enterprise such as product and process development, information technology, and supply chain/logistics.

Ø  課程大綱Outline of Lectures

本課程除了研究各種不同的工具和方法之外，本課程也將討論在醫療產業、高等教育、非政府組織、以及國家研究實驗室中之精益生產管理實務。本課程學員將會針對實際案例進行價值流程圖分析之學程課題，並於課堂上與學員分享研究結果（口頭報告+書面）。課程內容及指定教材以全英文進行。

In addition to various lean tools and methodologies, applications of lean management practices in healthcare industry, higher education, non-government organizations, and national research laboratories will also be discussed.  Students are required to do term projects on value stream mapping analysis of real-world cases and share their findings with the class (oral + written). Lecture contents and assigned readings are all in English.
