ABSTRACT

For non-English speaking scientists, it is far more comfortable performing scientific experiments or analyses than they are reporting their findings in English. For them, English writing is not only time consuming but also frustrating or even fruitless, sometimes. Also, writing for scientific scholarly journals includes a broad array of academic writing with unique requirements and formalities, and is directed to a unique readership. Consequently, the purpose of this talk is to discuss, to explain, and to handle these formalities.  By giving some examples, , the positive way to resolve the disagreement between the author and the reviewer or editor as well as the grammatical oversights prone to Chinese speaking persons are also discussed.  Finally, it should be noted that this talk is only to lay down some guidelines for scientific writing. More practice in both writing and reading is always essential to be a good technical writer.
